Is Vida's transcription as private as MacWhisper's?

Both transcribe on your Mac. Vida downloads its speech models from Hugging Face the first time you transcribe, and never uploads your audio or transcripts.

Which languages does Vida transcribe?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and Korean, or automatic detection.

Can Vida transcribe a file I recorded elsewhere?

Yes, with Vida Pro. Import an MP4, MOV, M4A or WAV file from Finder or drag it into Vida, and it is transcribed on your Mac. The five free transcriptions cover recordings made in Vida, not imports.
