Record a Screen + Audio Session

Use this for screen videos, demos, tutorials, and walkthroughs.

1. Open Vida.
2. Go to Record.
3. Choose Screen + Audio.
4. If you have multiple displays, choose the display to record.

5. Open Audio and choose:
   • System Audio on/off.
   • Microphone on/off.
   • Microphone source, if multiple devices are available.
6. Open Quality and choose:
   • Small size for smallest files.
   • Medium size for compact sharing.
   • Balanced for most recordings.
   • High Quality for sharper output.
7. Open Format and choose MP4 or MOV.
8. Optional: set a Timer if you want Vida to stop automatically.
9. Optional: type a custom File Name.
10. Optional: change Save To if you want a different folder.
11. Click Start Recording.
12. Wait for the countdown, if enabled.
13. In the header, check the REC health badge and live audio meters before you continue:
    • The Video icon must turn green.
    • If System Audio is enabled, play a short sound from the Mac and confirm the speaker icon turns green.
    • If Microphone is enabled, speak into the selected microphone and confirm the mic icon turns green.
14. Record your session only after every selected source is green.
15. If any selected source stays orange, turns red, or Vida shows a warning banner, stop the recording and fix that input before continuing.
16. Stop manually or wait for the timer.
17. On the completion screen, choose:
    • Open Recording to play it.
    • Reveal in Finder to locate it.
    • Record Again to start another session.
