Record an Audio-Only Session
Use this for voice notes, audio captures, and lightweight recordings without video.
- Open Vida.
- Go to Record.
- Choose Audio Only.
- Open Audio.
- Enable System Audio, Microphone, or both.
- Open Format and choose:
- M4A for a smaller compressed file.
- WAV for uncompressed audio.
- Optional: set a Timer.
- Optional: type a custom File Name.
- Optional: change Save To.
- Click Start Recording.
- In the header, check the REC health badge and live audio meters before you continue:
- If System Audio is enabled, play a short sound from the Mac and confirm the speaker icon turns green.
- If Microphone is enabled, speak into the selected microphone and confirm the mic icon turns green.
- Continue only after every selected audio source is green.
- If any selected source stays orange, turns red, or Vida shows a warning banner, stop the recording and fix that input before continuing.
- Stop manually or wait for the timer.
- Use the completion screen to open, reveal, or record again.
